One of the big transfer sagas of the 2019 summer window, Wilfried Zaha ended up staying put at Crystal Palace after months of speculation linking him with a move to the likes of Arsenal. But now, it appears Newcastle have set their sights on the winger.

According to The Sun, despite the Magpies waiting for the Premier League’s approval of their proposed takeover, they have earmarked Zaha as a potential transfer target for this summer.

The report claims that a major squad overhaul is planned, and that soundings have been made over the Ivory Coast international’s availability – it’s further suggested Zaha is valued at more than £60m by Palace.

After hearing about the links to the Premier League star, Newcastle fans took to Twitter to voice their thoughts on their reported transfer target.

Some Newcastle fans simply called Zaha “overrated”, and urged the club to steer clear.

At 27, Zaha is in the prime years of his career, and he’s been Palace’s talisman for the past few seasons now.

After failing to secure a move to Arsenal last summer, it’s difficult to see why the Ivorian would want to stay at Selhurst Park for another season, and Newcastle could take advantage of that and make a big splash for him this time around.

Newcastle United fans were handed a fresh takeover update from ChronicleLive reporter Lee Ryder on Friday but it hasn’t gone down very well.

The journalist claims that the Magpies’ prospective owners – namely the Saudi Arabian consortium made up of crown prince Mohammed bin Salman, PCP Partners’ Amanda Staveley and the Reuben brothers – are hoping that the path has been cleared for the Premier League to conclude it’s owners and directors test following the confirmation on a return to action.

Some responded to this news rather sarcastically whilst others took a swipe at Ryder himself…

Supporters at St James’ Park have been eager for some sort of announcement for nearly two months now, so many are growing tired of the delays and hitches that keep being reported in the media.

Com a vitória do Flamengo sobre o Internacional, no último domingo (2), o Colorado perdeu qualquer possibilidade de ser campeão.

A competição pode acabar nesta quarta-feira (4). Para isso, o Botafogo precisa vencer ou empatar com o Inter, no Beira-Rio, e contar com uma derrota no Palmeiras para o Cruzeiro, no Mineirão. Ambos os times entram em campo à partir das 19h30 (de Brasília).

The proposed takeover of Newcastle United has been put into doubt by David Sugden, director of corporate affairs at the beIN Media Group, after he claimed that if Saudi Arabia secured a place in English football’s top table, it would be like “letting the fox into the hen house”.

The company’s response to the World Trade Organisation’s (WTO) report on the Middle Eastern country’s protection of intellectual property rights was published by the Financial Times as the outlet explained why the piracy ruling from the body raised a new doubt over whether the prospective deal between Amanda Staveley’s Saudi-led group and current club owner Mike Ashley would still be approved by the Premier League.

Sophie Jordan, general counsel at beIN Media Group, also added her tuppence worth into the ruling by claiming that Qatar’s accusations of the Kingdom were “not allegations” and she described the WTO as “one of the most important international tribunals” as they made their decision on the accusations against the Saudis.

Indeed, the crown prince of the country and head of the Public Investment Fund (PIF) Mohammed bin Salman (MBS) is one of the main front runners in trying to get the £300m bid over the line alongside businesswoman and head of PCP Capital Partners Staveley as well as the billionaire Reuben brothers, who are based in London.

However, due to MBS’s associations with Saudi Arabia, in addition to the pirate television channel beoutQ – which broadcasts and streams English top flight games illegally – also being accused of being associated with the country, the Premier League now have a big decision to make as to whether they should approve of the takeover at St. James’ Park given the findings.

النني احترف في أوروبا، قبل ثماني سنوات، حيث انتقل إلى بازل السويسري من المقاولون العرب في يناير 2013، وبعد تألقه مع بازل انتقل إلى صفوف آرسنال في يناير 2016.

وقال النني: “أول مباراة لي في الدوري الإنجليزي كانت خارج ملعبنا ضد توتنهام، لقد علمت أنها مباراة ديربي كبيرة بالنسبة لنا، ولن أقول إنني صدمت من الجو، في الحقيقة لقد استمتعت حقًا باللعب في جو كهذا، واستمتعت بكل لحظة”.

وأضاف: “لقد “كانت الجماهير مجنونة في كل دقيقة في المباراة وأتذكر الأيام التي سبقت المباراة أيضًا، جاء فيك أكيرز (المسؤول في ذلك الوقت) للتحدث معي وقال (مو، هذا مهم جدًا جدًا، يجب أن تكون مستعدًا للجو)”.

وواصل: “دائمًا ما كنت أستمتع بالمباريات الكبيرة، عندما تلعب ضد فرق كبيرة، لديك الفرصة لإظهار من أنت حقًا كلاعب، يمكن لبعض اللاعبين أن يكونوا رائعين في المباريات ضد الفرق الصغيرة، لكنني أعتقد أن الطريقة التي تقدم بها نفسك في المباريات الكبيرة هي التي تمنحك القصة الحقيقية، لهذا السبب أحب هذه المباريات، يكون لديك فرصة لإظهار أنك تنتمي إلى هذا المستوى”.

وأردف: “بالنسبة لي، المشجعون متشابهون جدًا في جميع أنحاء العالم، الجميع يحبون كرة القدم، في كل مكان تذهب إليه، يكون المشجعون شغوفين بكرة القدم، وخاصًة أولئك الذين يذهبون إلى الملاعب، فهم مجنونون بكرة القدم، لكني ألعب في الدوري الإنجليزي منذ ست سنوات، لذا ربما نسيت ما هو عليه في أي مكان آخر! لكني أحب الدوري الإنجليزي الممتاز للمباريات التنافسية بقدر ما أحب الجو العام”.

واسترسل: “أنا أحب هذا الدوري حقًا، كل مباراة تنافسية، ولن تعرف أبدًا من سيفوز بأي مباراة، وهذا يعد أحد أفضل الأشياء في الدوري الإنجليزي، كل فريق قوي جدًا لذا فأنت لا تعرف أبدًا من سيفوز، ربما لا يدرك المشجعون ذلك كثيرًا هنا، لكن يمكنني أن أخبركم أنه ليس كل دوري قوي مثل هذا”.

وأسهب: “أنا أتذكر فريق مدينتي (المحلة الكبرى) كان يلعب ضد النادي الأهلي، وكانت أول مباراة لي مع الأحمر، على ما أعتقد في المحلة، لقد كان من الصعب جدًا على أي فريق الذهاب واللعب هُناك، هم مشهورون بذلك، بسبب الجماهير، والطريقة التي يقترب بها المشجعون من الملعب، وكذلك الملعب ليس من السهل اللعب عليه!، لذلك يعرف كل فريق ذلك، ومن الصعب حقًا تحقيق الفوز هناك، أنا أتذكر وجودي هناك عندما كنت لا أزال صغيرا جدًا”.

وعن ذكريات مجزرة بورسعيد والتي راح ضحيتها في فبراير 2011، 74 مشجعًا من جماهير الأهلي: “لقد كنت ألعب في مصر في ذلك الوقت، لم أتواجد في هذه المباراة (الأهلي والمصري)، وبعد ما حدث ألغوا الموسم بأكمله، كان ذلك حقًا سيئًا لقد مات الكثير من الناس، لذلك لم يكن لديهم أي خيار سوى إلغاء المسابقة”.

وتابع: “لقد كانت صدمة كبيرة لنا بنسبة 100 في المائة، كانت هُناك معارك بين الجماهير، خاصة في تلك المباراة، لكنها لم تكن بهذا السوء أبدًا، في الواقع، أعتقد أنه كان هُناك مشكلة ما في ذلك اليوم، ولا أعرف تمامًا ما حدث لأنني لم أكن هناك، لكن المشكلة لم تكن القتال فقط، بل أنهم قرروا إغلاق البوابات، وحبس الناس في الداخل”.

وأكمل: “لا أعرف “لماذا فعلوا ذلك؟ كيف؟ كان الجميع عالقين في الداخل، وصعدوا إلى بعضهم البعض واشتد القتال، ولم يتمكن الناس من الهروب، لقد كانت لحظة صعبة في مصر، كان أصدقائي يلعبون في هذه المباراة، في مصر كل اللاعبين أصدقاء حقًا لذلك كنت أعرف الكثير منهم، وأخبروني كم كان الأمر سيئًا، الأمر كان فظيعًا حقًا، تخيل أنك تلعب مباراة ثم يموت 74 شخصًا في الملعب، كان الأمر فظيعًا للغاية، وقد أثر على الجميع في البلاد”.

واستكمل: “كنت أعرف لاعبين لم يتمكنوا من مغادرة المنزل لفترة بعد ذلك، ظلوا بالداخل يبكون، وكان الأمر صعبًا حقًا عليهم”.

وأتبع: “كنت محظوظًا بعد ذلك وذهبت إلى سويسرا في يناير 2013، لقد أوقفوا الدوري في منتصف عام 2011، ثم بدأنا مرة أخرى لفترة وجيزة في عام 2012 ، لكن بعد ذلك ذهبت إلى بازل، لكن مُنذ ذلك اليوم لم يعد لدينا مشجعون في الملعب في مصر، لم تكن هُناك جماهير على الإطلاق في المباريات”.

وأتم تصريحاته: “كان فقط في مباريات المنتخب الوطني، عندما أذهب للعب في مصر، يتواجد 5000 مشجع، لكن في الدوري لا يوجد مُشجعين، أعتقد أن بعد ذلك تواجد المُشجعين مرة أخرى، ولكن بعد ذلك جاء الوباء ولا يزال غياب المشجعين عن المباريات مستمرًا”.
