علق وسام أبو علي مهاجم فريق الكرة بالنادي الأهلي، على إهدار الفرص خلال مباراة بورتو البرتغالي، مؤكدًا أن الأحمر قدم مباراة رائعة بختام مشواره في كأس العالم للأندية 2025.
وتلاقى الأهلي أمام بورتو البرتغالي فجر اليوم الثلاثاء، في إطار منافسات الجولة الثالثة من دور مجموعات البطولة، المُقامة حاليًا في أمريكا.
وانتهت المباراة بتعادل إيجابي بين الفريقين، بأربعة أهداف لمثلها، ليودعا البطولة سويًا، في حين تأهل بالميراس وإنتر ميامي من المجموعة الأولى.
وقال وسام أبو علي في تصريحات تلفزيونية عبر قناة “إم بي سي مصر”: “حزين جدًا وأشعر بالإحباط، كان يجب أن أسجل المزيد من الأهداف، وكانت هناك فرص رائعة، لكنها أُهدرت”.

وأكمل: “لقد بذلنا قصارى جهدنا، وأنا سعيد لأننا سجلنا هذه الأهداف وقدمنا أداءً مميزًا، وبدأنا المباراة بشكل قوي، وكان من المفترض أن نستغل كل الفرص المتاحة أمامنا”.
واختتم: “لقد حاولنا بذل كل جهد ممكن واستغللنا الفرص المتاحة، وأنا سعيد لأننا أظهرنا للجماهير كل الحماس، فهم الداعمون الأساسيون لنا، وكانت الأجواء مثيرة ومذهلة بفضل الجماهير”.

He was recalled to the side last night after dropping to the bench in the defeat against Portsmouth, with his performance last night showing why Farke cannot make the same mistake again.
Rothwell featured for 87 minutes in the victory, partnering Tanaka at the base of the midfield, registering a total of 84 touches and completing 60 passes at a completion rate of 90%.
The loanee also completed 100% of the dribbles that he attempted and won 100% of the tackles he entered – highlighting his impressive ability to operate as a box-to-box midfielder.

Rothwell produced numerous neat touches to get himself out of a tricky position, with his passing range enabling him to make 14 passes into the final third – providing players in front of him with the chance to shine.

A dazzling display of boundary hitting all around the ground from Rilee Rossouw in his unbeaten 82 off 37, combined with useful contributions from the other Delhi Capitals top-four batters, handed Punjab Kings a 15-run defeat and severely dented their playoff chances.Kings got close to the finish line in the end, thanks to a belligerent 94 off 48 from Liam Livingstone, but he fought a lone battle. The loss kept Kings on the eighth spot with 12 points. They now depend on many other results going their way to stay alive in the playoffs race because they have only one match to go, and three teams are already above 14 points, which is the most Kings can get to.Kings were mostly behind the asking rate right from the start because their only other batter who scored over 25 was Atharva Taide, who struggled for fluency and retired out on 55 off 42 balls. The 2023 edition of the Women’s CPL will feature seven matches, as opposed to four in the inaugural season last year. The league will host will get underway on August 30, with the final taking place on September 10 in Trinidad and Tobago.As was the case last year, the sides taking part are Trinbago Knight Riders, Barbados Royals and Guyana Amazon Warriors. Temos que confirmar e, para isso, precisamos fazer um jogo sólido e seguro. A vantagem pode vir a ser importante nos cinco minutos finais da partida. Temos que fazer um jogo claro, determinado e conhecendo o nosso adversário que há 10, 15 dias, contra nossa equipe. O futebol prega muitas peças, e não podemos vacilar em momento nenhum. A preparação começou no dia seguinte à vitória.

Regularidade apresentada pela equipe
Há um fator importante que vem acontecendo. Independe dos nomes que colocamos, os jogadores estão dando uma resposta muito positiva. Chamo a atenção para nossa linha de zagueiros, que, de repente, vinham sendo muito contestados. Há quantos jogos estamos sem tomar gols? Isso é um ponto importante. É um trabalho coletivo, que começa pela primeira linha de marcação, passa pelos meias e volantes, mas o comportamento da linha defensiva tem sido exemplar, com uma formação ou outra. A evolução desde a partida contra o Santos, se não me engano, foi muito grande. Todo trabalho que está sendo desenvolvido neste sentido está gerando resultado.
Mérito do trabalho é a simplicidade?
Tivemos que mudar algumas funções. A do Gabriel, para ele e Pedro se sentirem confiantes. Para o Arrascaeta. Quando jogamos com dois homens abertos, uma nova função para o Lázaro. É feito com cumplicidade, mas com muito trabalho, entrega e, principalmente, aceitação dos jogadores, que abraçaram a ideia e acreditam que ela pode acontecer desde a dedicação e foco de todos. Todos jogos têm sido assim, independente do time. Todos interessados em melhorar, acertar. É um trabalho coletivo.
Briga pelas três competições e manutenção da equipe
Dificuldade será grande em todas as competições. Não temos vaga definida na Libertadores, mas temos uma vantagem. Um confronto diretíssimo contra o Athletico, na Copa do Brasil, e estamos a nove pontos para o líder do Brasileirão. Não temos situação confortável em nenhum torneio. Temos que continuar trabalhando como temos feito. Não considero titulares ou reservas, são todos jogadores do Flamengo e estão tendo suas oportunidades.
Mikel Arteta will no doubt plead caution surrounding the signing of any new centre-forward this summer, with it not a guarantee that such a move will instantly propel Arsenal to long-awaited Premier League glory.
Indeed, it is not only through the middle where reinforcements are required, with an upgrade on the left flank also seemingly needed with Gabriel Martinelli and Leandro Trossard scoring just ten top-flight goals between them this term.
That said, fans and pundits alike are craving a statement acquisition of a new striker after what looks set to be another second-place finish in the league, with the Gunners having also come up short in the previous two campaigns.
Not since the summer of 2022 have the club forked out for a new number nine, albeit with even Gabriel Jesus not exactly an out-and-out centre-forward, particularly considering much of his work came on the right flank during his prior stint at Manchester City.
With the Brazilian having since been ravaged by injury – with Kai Havertz also currently sidelined – there is a real dearth of reliable options at the Emirates, a fact epitomised by Mikel Merino’s recent shift into a makeshaft target man.
Whether it is the difference between winning the league or not, the Gunners simply must sign a striker. If recent reports are anything to go by, the search has already started.

The leading target for the north London side remains that of Alexander Isak, although question marks remain over just how feasible a deal would be for the in-form Swede, considering Newcastle United’s £150m asking price.

With that in mind, the Gunners appear to be looking elsewhere in their extensive search, with Football Transfers naming Bologna’s Santiago Castro as a potential summer option.
As per the report, it is Arteta who is said to be ‘personally pushing’ to seal the signing of the young Argentine, with the Arsenal boss believed to be a ‘huge admirer’ of the promising forward.

While the piece does mainly focus in on Arsenal’s parallel interest in Atletico Madrid starlet, Adrian Nino, the Spaniard appears more of a project signing, considering he only made his first-team debut for the LaLiga side in January.
Castro, meanwhile, may only be 20 himself, although amid a promising campaign in Serie A, he has seemingly caught the attention of Arteta as someone who could come in and make an instant impact at the Emirates.
Perhaps, he could well follow in the footsteps of a certain Alexis Sanchez in an Arsenal shirt…
Why Castro would be a good signing for Arsenal
While the Gunners did actually pluck Sanchez from Barcelona back in 2014, the Chilean did mirror his fellow South American by initially plying his trade in his homeland with Cobreloa, before then making his name in Italy at Udinese.
The now veteran forward – who has ended up back at the Italian outfit in the twilight of his career – notably scored 12 goals and provided a further ten assists in the 2010/11 Serie A season, before being poached by Barca, having typically operated as a centre-forward or second striker.
Castro, meanwhile, has followed a similar path after starting out in his native Argentina with Velez Sarsfield – for whom he scored nine goals in 64 games – prior to making the switch to Bologna last year, going on to score eight times and register four assists in Italy’s top flight in 2024/25.

Now valued at around €30m (£26m), according to reports in January, Castro is well on course to emulating Sanchez’s final season at Udinese, with now perhaps the chance for Arsenal to pounce – rather than signing him later down the line, like they did with Sanchez.
Having been described as the “complete forward” by analyst Ben Mattinson, the 6 foot machine does mirror the ex-Arsenal man in also being able to feature on the flanks, ensuring he could also rival the likes of Martinelli and Trossard in that left-wing berth.

Not just an “instinctive finisher”, in the words of Mattinson, the Buenos Aires native may also prove a valuable addition due to his innate link-up play, as shown by the fact that he ranks in the top 10% of strikers in Europe’s top five leagues for pass completion.
A composed presence both in possession and in front of goal, Castro could certainly be worth taking a punt on. With Arsenal having seen the success of signing Sanchez, amid his return of 124 goals and assists in just 166 games for the club, the capture of a potential successor will hopefully prove just as fruitful.
With 20 goals and assists in 46 games for Bologna since signing back in January 2024, the 20-year-old could well be a wildcard solution.
