Leeds United's fate will be sealed today in the huge Championship showpiece event at Wembley as they take on Southampton in the play-off final.
A place in the 2024/25 Premier League is up for grabs for the victor as they both vie to return to the top-flight at the first time of asking, following their relegation to the second tier last summer.
The Whites come into this clash off the back of a 4-0 aggregate win over Norwich City in the semi-finals, whilst their opponents beat West Bromwich Albion 3-1.
Daniel Farke's side smashed the Canaries 4-0 at Elland Road in the second leg in what was a fantastic evening in Yorkshire but that may not stop the German boss from making a change to his starting XI.
The former Norwich tactician could boldly drop Archie Gray from the lineup to make way for the experience of Connor Roberts in this huge game at Wembley.
Why Archie Gray could be dropped
The teenage whiz started both legs of the semi-finals, in different positions, and failed to impress in either as he struggled to showcase his best against the Canaries.
In the first leg at Carrow Road, Football Insider's Callum O'Connell awarded Gray a player rating of just 1/10 for his performance, as he lost possession 14 times and only completed ten passes in a number ten role.

As you can see in the table above, the England U21 international also failed to impress when moved to right-back for the second leg at Elland Road.
He lost the majority of his duels and was dribbled past as many times as he completed tackles and interceptions combined, which could open the door for Roberts.
Why Connor Roberts should start
Leeds signed the experienced defender on loan from Burnley on deadline day in February and they may have had games like this in mind when they did so.
The 28-year-old star won the Championship with the Clarets last term and, therefore, knows what it takes to perform on the big occasions at this level, and the Whites could benefit from his experience on the pitch this afternoon.
Connor Roberts
Roberts made 12 appearances for Farke's men during the regular season and showcased his physicality with a ground duel success rate of 64%, along with a goal and an assist to illustrate his attacking intent.
The Wales international, who journalist Laurie Whitwell once claimed "finishes like a striker", won 59% of his ground duels across 43 league outings for Burnley last season.
He also racked up six assists and four goals for Vincent Kompany's side, which shows that the 5 foot 9 full-back can make an impact at both ends of the pitch.
Leeds have "inquired" about signing £55k-p/w star who'd thrive with Gnonto
The Whites are reportedly interested in a swoop to sign the soon-to-be free agent defender.

After Gray's lightweight and unimpressive showings in the semi-finals, Farke could keep him in reserve and boldly drop him to the bench in order to keep him as fresh legs for the second half and in case it goes to extra-time.
Roberts must then be unleashed in his place to offer quality in and out of possession, as well as his experience in the Championship in such a big game.

Squad will go into quarantine at Worcester before heading to Derby for final preparations

Pakistan’s players and support staff will be tested for Covid-19 every five days on their England tour•AFP
Ten Pakistan players who tested positive for Covid-19 earlier this week will not be part of the squad that flies out to Manchester on Sunday. The 18 players who tested negative, alongside the support staff who have been tested, will be the only ones to board the charter plane arranged by the ECB – provided the results of their second test, which the PCB will announce on Saturday, also come out negative. This was confirmed after the ECB announced in a press release that members of the Pakistan travelling party who had tested positive would “not be permitted to travel with the advance group”. Though it did not specify if those players would need to return two negative tests to be permitted to travel, the idea of an “advance group” implied there would be members of the Pakistan side not part of the original travelling group on June 28.That would appear to end any hopes the PCB harboured of sending all 28 players in the squad on the same flight, after they were understood to be considering dropping the requirement of two negative tests before permission to depart for England was granted. That would have had implications for the ten Pakistan players and one member of the support staff who returned positive tests for Covid-19 earlier this week, though all of them were asymptomatic. They were tested a second time on Friday, and if the two-negative test rule had been ditched, would have been able to travel with the other 18 players if the test results turned out negative. As things stand, the PCB will revert to the original schedule, which means those ten players will be tested a third time on June 29, and catch a commercial flight to England later on once they have provided two negative tests.ALSO READ: Pakistan may drop need for two negative Covid testsFive reserve players were called up as cover and tested for the virus on Thursday, with the results expected on Saturday. Bilal Asif, Imran Butt, Mohammad Nawaz, Mohammad Musa and Rohail Nazir have all undergone tests, as has masseur Mohammad Imran. Nazir, the PCB announced, was called up as a back-up wicketkeeper after Pakistan’s first-choice Mohammad Rizwan tested positive for Covid-19. Rizwan was, according to the PCB CEO Wasim Khan, the only one of the ten whose result had implications for the Test leg of Pakistan’s tour of England, which will be played before the three-match T20I series. On Thursday, the 18 players who tested negative, as well as 11 support staff personnel, underwent a second round of tests. Should all of them return negative tests once more, they will be cleared to depart for England on June 28 according to schedule. The ECB also announced that the Pakistan squad that lands in Manchester on Sunday will undergo a 14-day quarantine period in Worcestershire before transferring to Derbyshire’s Incora Country Ground on July 13. That would reflect a change in plan from the original schedule, which would have seen the Pakistan squad quarantine in Derbyshire, although an ECB spokesperson said that the original itinerary had not been set in stone. The tour comprises three Test matches and three T20Is in August and September. All six games will be played behind closed doors.

Three wickets apiece for Marcus O’Riordan and Harry Podmore keep Kent fighting

Kent’s Harry Podmore and Marcus O’Riordan took three wickets apiece while Sussex captain Ben Brown top-scored with an unbeaten 90 as honours finished even on the opening day of this Bob Willis Trophy south group clash at a sultry Canterbury.O’Riordan, the 22-year-old offspinner making only his third first-class appearance, took career-best figures of 3 for 50 and former Middlesex seamer Podmore bagged 3 for 74 while Brown stood firm for over four hours to see Sussex in at stumps on 320 for 9.The visitors lost three wickets in the opening session all due to batting errors. After hitting four boundaries in a run-a-ball cameo worth 19, Phil Salt feathered a tentative prod outside off to the keeper from a Darren Stevens leg-cutter to make it 27 for 1.Second-wicket partners Harry Finch and Tom Haines added 50 from 80 balls before Kent debutant Tim Groenewald, bowling around the wicket, had left-handed Haines caught off an edged drive by Jordan Cox at slip for an attractive 21. Then, on the cusp of lunch, Finch fell for 37, caught at slip when aiming to slog-sweep O’Riordan.Resuming after lunch on 93 for 3, Sussex ploughed on through Brown and Tom Clark who added 83 in almost 22 overs to take Sussex to their first batting bonus point. Clark contributed a 77-ball half-century – his maiden first-class fifty – with eight boundaries but the left-hander tossed away his wicket for 65 when dancing down the pitch to O’Riordan only to chip a simple catch to mid-on.Sporting his new-look bleached grey hairstyle, Podmore then found the inside edge of Delray Rawlins’ bat with a booming in-swinger that flew to the keeper, and Robinson claimed his third catch of the day when Garton, on four, followed a Podmore leg-cutter to give Kent their second bowling bonus point.Though conditions for cricket were ideal, the eery lack of crowd noise made for a strange start to Kent’s opening first-class home fixture for 2020. While Sussex changed in the Leslie Ames Stand hospitality boxes on the Nackington Road side of the ground, Kent used both dressing rooms on the pavilion side with a seven-player restriction per dressing room. As well as taking standard drinks intervals the players, who are unable to shower come each day’s end, also took short hand sanitisation breaks every 20 minutes. In the final session, Brown notched his side’s second half-century of the day from 101 balls and with six fours. Yet Podmore continued his good work by having Jack Carson held at second slip on the drive after the right-hander edged a floating away-swinger.O’Riordan mopped up his third wicket of the day when Henry Crocombe walked across his stumps working to leg to fall lbw then Stuart Meaker risked a second to deep cover only to be run out by Hamidullah Qadri’s throw from the ropes.”It feels great to get that first half-century out of the way and it was really nice to make a significant contribution to the team’s total,” Clark said. “It’s massive for me to know I’ll get a decent run in the side throughout this Bob Willis Trophy.”O’Riordan was turning the ball steadily and that’s encouraging for us, as we’re bowling in the fourth innings. We have a couple of really good spinners in our side and I believe that will only reinforce our decent position in the match after the opening day.”Sussex were without Ollie Robinson, who was called up by England on the morning of the match ahead of the second Test against Pakistan next week.

Enzo Maresca reportedly wants to make a £75,000-per-week Chelsea player the focal point of his team, as the former Pep Guardiola understudy begins plotting his Stamford Bridge vision.
Why Chelsea decided to appoint Enzo Maresca as new manager
The Italian, who guided Leicester City to the Championship title and Premier League promotion at the first time of asking last season, has now made the move to Stamford Bridge and will replace Mauricio Pochettino – who parted company around this time last week.
Chelsea ready to back Maresca with £19.5 million to sign ex-Man City player
Todd Boehly is gearing up for a hectic summer.
ByEmilio Galantini May 28, 2024
Maresca has put pen to paper on a long-term five-year deal, much longer than the contract Pochettino was handed last year, which is a clear indicator of the Chelsea board's faith in their new manager.
Co-sporting directors Laurence Stewart and Paul Winstanley lead the charge for Pochettino's successor, with Todd Boehly, Behdad Eghbali and the higher powers presumably green-lighting their decision to hire Maresca as the favoured candidate.

Chelsea talks were held with Ipswich Town boss Kieran McKenna, and it is believed Brentford boss Thomas Frank was another standout name in the managerial recruitment process. However, certain things worked in Maresca's favour, as Fabrizio Romano explained this week.
“Never had any doubts despite some reports suggesting that maybe he wants to stay at Leicester," said Romano to CaughtOffside.
"Although he loves and respects Leicester, it’s been very clear ever since Chelsea entered this story that Maresca wants to be the next Chelsea manager. Maresca believes in the Chelsea project around young players with a big future, he thinks it is a really exciting project. Meanwhile, Chelsea are convinced he’s a super talented coach and that’s why he’s a name appreciated by both directors and owners, all convinced he can be the man for present and future.
“Maresca’s obsession with ball possession, quality football, dominating the game, his knowledge of elite football despite being a young manager – all of this made the difference for Chelsea to pick him."
Chelsea are rumoured to be in talks with Fulham defender Tosin Adarabioyo as they target Maresca'a first signing as head coach, while it is also claimed that Boehly is willing to pay around £19.5 million for Burnley keeper James Trafford.
Maresca wants to make Cole Palmer the focal point of his Chelsea team
Now, The Telegraph suggests he is a real fan of Cole Palmer – with the pair previously working together at Man City. The £75,000-per-week ace played a pivotal role last season, and it is believed Palmer will be the focal point of Maresca's 4-3-3 formation at Chelsea.
"He is a proper player, he will go anywhere on the pitch and take the ball, he backs himself," said pundit Joe Cole.
"Sometimes people can look at that with disdain, saying it's arrogance. It's not arrogance. We need it and we need more players like that."
As much as many Ipswich Town fans will be content with cheering on England at this Euros, a welcome summertime distraction before the nerves of a Premier League campaign kick in, there will no doubt be a sense of excitement in the air too for the top-flight.
The Tractor Boys will aim to take the top flight by storm and catch teams off-guard in the process, with this mentality sending shockwaves through the Championship on the way to promotion being sealed, but they will be abundantly aware that it will is a different kettle of fish altogether compared to the second-tier.
In order to traverse another leap up in quality, without letting the immense pressure get the better of them, Kieran McKenna and Co will try to litter the Ipswich squad with some more top talents, one of which is currently out in Germany at the Euros.
Ipswich face competition for ambitious signing
Credited with having a previous interest in current Chelsea man Armando Broja, Ipswich will know that they face extremely stiff competition to land the Albanian attacker's services, with a new development from Italian outlet CalcioMercato – via Sky Italia – stating that scouts from AC Milan are watching his progress in Germany with his national side.
With Everton and Southampton also keen back in England, alongside McKenna's men, it could be a tall order for the Tractor Boys to land the 6 foot 3 forward, ahead of other interested parties.
Armando Broja celebrating a goal for Chelsea.
Broja could be Hirst 2.0
After an uneventful showing against Italy in his country's opening game of the Euros – with just 22 touches mustered up against Italy – suitors from the likes of the San Siro and Goodison Park could now be put off going after him, especially with a dire loan spell at Fulham from last campaign also still fresh.
This could be where Ipswich swoop in, with Broja also teammates with former Tractor Boys loanee Omari Hutchinson at Stamford Bridge.
McKenna could well be the manager to get the best out of Broja again, after the 22-year-old managed just eight appearances at Craven Cottage last season out loan, with only a solitary assist to show for his troubles.
The much-loved Tractor Boys boss managed to get a tune out of a once misfiring George Hirst last campaign, who routinely fired blanks for previous employers such as Rotherham United, enduring a horrendous barren 2020/21 season with the Millers.
However, at Ipswich, he has been turned into a consistent figure under his new manager's guidance.
Since McKenna's arrival into the building, Hirst has managed to net 14 goals across two campaigns – with seven of those aiding Ipswich's promotion bid last season – which is a fair chunk of the 47 goals he's managed across his full up-and-down career.

Therefore, the stuttering Broja will aim to be revived himself by McKenna in a bid to become the confident attacker he once was when he was donning a Southampton strip.
Indeed, his nine-goal haul during the 2021-22 season saw him rival a number of Ipswich attackers from their promotion campaign, with Hirst falling just short with his goalscoring numbers when comparing the two.
Once described as being a "strong" attacker by one of his former Chelsea managers in Frank Lampard, Broja would also be able to plug a gap in the squad with Kayden Jackson no longer on the books, offering Ipswich an imposing forward option away from more intricate attackers such as Conor Chaplin.
Armando Broja
Ipswich will know they need to press on with new signings soon, as the date for the Premier League fixtures getting announced grows closer, with Broja a statement purchase if it happens.
Ipswich looking at signing "outstanding" Burgess upgrade
Ipswich Town could show they mean business by landing a deal for this outstanding defender.
